Never more than a recreational footballer, he’s a tremendous fan and active follower of the UEFA champions league, where the best teams of the world compete for glory. As with many fans around the globe who don’t have a strong domestic league, his favorite team is FC Barcelona, and his favorite player is Lionel Messi.
Wajahat contributed to the article “Made in Pakistan – How the World’s Ball Manufacturer Views Soccer”. While he may not have a stellar background in soccer, his familiarity of ball manufacturing processes and access to manufacturing plants gave us a first hand account of who’s REALLY involved in the manufacturing of soccer balls in Pakistan.
[testimonial company=”Contributing Writer w/ The Soccer Mom Manual” author=”Wajahat Ullah”]My greatest soccer memory is the 2008-09 season when Barca won the treble – the Champions League, La Liga and the Copa del Ray. They became the 1st Spanish club to do so, and this was Guardiola’s 1st season in charge. Obviously he went on to win 13 major titles in his 4 year stint at the club, but this was the start of it all, so it’s a memory that does not fade.I’m really excited to see if Guardiola can do the same with Bayern Munich.[/testimonial]
